CHICAGO – Alex Rios hit a first-inning grand slam and a two-run homer in the sixth inning to power the Chicago White Sox past the Twins Wednesday afternoon, 6-2.
Jake Peavy pitched six innings for the Sox to pick up his 10th win of the year. Minnesota starter P.J. Walters, who gave up all six runs, took the loss.
The Twins, who fell to 56-81 on the year, are off Thursday before opening a 10-game homestand at Target Field against A.L. Central foes Cleveland, Kansas City and Chicago.
