Although it’s still early in the season, the Timberwolves may have hit a new low to go along with their putrid 6-17 record.
After their 27-point loss to the Pistons on Friday, Ricky Rubio told reporters the team lacks heart.
“We can accept making mistakes and [when we] don’t make shots,” Rubio said after the game. “Playing with no heart, with no desire, it’s just awful. Right now, it’s just bad. And it seems like we didn’t care.”
Even though Rubio is having the worst statistical season of his career, it’s clearly more than just the starting point guard’s poor play and he’s not the only one who is worried.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau agrees with his veteran point guard telling Jon Krawczynski of AP Sports that he’s concerned and something has to change.

When the former NBA Coach of the Year was hired in the offseason, the belief was he would make the Wolves a better defensive team, while trying to get them into the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
However, Minnesota is still among the bottom of the league in points allowed and is even struggling on offense too.
For a team that has Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine, the Wolves rank 17th in points per game.
It won’t get any easier either as the Timberwolves have Golden State, Chicago, Houston and Oklahoma City looming on their schedule.
