For the first time all season the Timberwolves are in the midst of a three-game winning streak. A large part of their success is due to the play of point guard Ricky Rubio.
He’s helped the team to wins over the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Two teams that are legitimate playoff contenders who are led by two MVP candidates, James Harden and Russell Westbrook.
During the winning streak Rubio has posted a double-double in every game, while averaging 15 assists. In fact he set a franchise record for the number of assists in a three-game stretch with 46 assists.
This comes after Rubio also set a team record for assists in a single game too.
In the Timberwolves win over the Thunder on Friday night, Rubio pulled this filthy move on Andre Roberson.
Even with Zach LaVine out with an injury, the offense hasn’t skipped a beat as the team is shooting over 50 percent from the floor.
The Timberwolves will try and extend their winning streak to four games on Sunday night against the Dallas Mavericks.
