There is growing talk that the Minnesota Timberwolves may be looking to trade flashy point guard Ricky Rubio.
The Timberwolves have a young and talented core of players, which includes Rubio, who is just 24. Still, recent reports indicate that Minnesota may be looking to trade Rubio.
NBA Analyst Rick Bucher tells the Bleacher Report there would be several potential landing places for the pass-first point guard.

Rubio averaged 10.3 points and 8.8 assists per game last season, but he played in just 22 games as he was limited most of the season by an ankle injury.
He just signed a contract extension with the Wolves prior to last season.
While Bucher notes that Rubio makes a lot of sense in Minnesota, he says if the Wolves are looking to move him, these would be a few potential landing spots.

- Dallas Mavericks
- New York Knicks
- Milwaukee Bucks
Rubio really isn’t buying into all of the trade talk though. He is in Dubai currently and told Gulf News that he believes he will be staying with Minnesota.
“I have confidence that the team wants me but you know in this league anybody can get traded. You don’t listen to the rumors. You just live day-by-day and that’s it.”
According to Pro Basketball Talk, it would be a mistake for the Wolves to trade Rubio right now unless they have a viable backup plan at point guard.
“Rubio has the potential to elevate the games of Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns with his creativity on the floor. Minnesota has so much potential with this roster; they need to play it out for part of the season and evaluate how the pieces fit.”
