Left-handed reliever Logan Darnell was placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room on the roster for Nolasco.

Nolasco had surgery on his ankle nearly three months ago. Even though he’s been added to the roster, the Pioneer Press reports there is no guarantee the right-hander will pitch again this season.
“No disrespect; I told him I just can’t throw him some innings,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said. “I don’t know how these games are going to go. You’re at a stage of the season where you might try to use different people early in the game if your starter has a rough night or an injury to try to give yourself a chance, because you can’t concede anything.”
The Twins are in the thick of the Wild Card chase. Entering Friday’s series opener against the Tigers, Minnesota and the Angels are one and a half games behind the Houston Astros for the second and final Wild Card seed in the American League.
The Twins play seven games in a row on the road before ending the regular season at Target Field in a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals.
