Rick Adelman could make history when the Timberwolves host the Toronto Raptors Friday night at Target Center.
Adelman is sitting on 999 career victories, and a win over the Raptors would make him the eighth coach in the history of the NBA to reach 1,000 wins.
The Timberwolves head coach is receiving high praise from his colleagues as he nears the milestone.
San Antonio’s Greg Popovich called Adelman “the most underated coach in the league.” Chicago’s Tom Thibodeau referred to him as “one of the all-time great coaches in the league.”
Minnesota has been hot of late, winning five of its last nine games since Chase Budinger returned from an injury.
