Five Gopher football players, who missed the team’s last home game against Rutgers, will be back on the field Saturday when Minnesota hosts Purdue.
Ray Buford, KiAnte Hardin, Tamarion Johnson, Dior Johnson and Carlton Djam missed the Rutgers game after a restraining order filed against them barred them from TCF Bank Stadium.
According to the Star Tribune, the restraining order was dismissed when the players agreed to a court order that doesn’t allow them within 20 feet of the woman who filed it.
It was related to a September sexual assault investigation that led to four of the players being suspended for three weeks in September while Minneapolis Police investigated.
The players were reinstated when prosecutors chose not to file charges or make any arrests.
Then two weeks ago, prior to Minnesota’s Homecoming game against Rutgers the woman – who works in the university’s game day operations – filed the restraining order against the players causing them to miss that game.
The players were in court Wednesday to challenge the order today when the settlement was reached. FOX 9 reports the players are not allowed to have any contact with the woman until she graduates.
