It’s pretty rare that Xavier Rhodes is ever mentioned in conversations about the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Those accolades belong to the likes of Josh Norman, Patrick Peterson, Marcus Peters, Richard Sherman and a few others. But in a Q&A with The Players’ Tribune, Sherman made it a point to qualify just how good Rhodes is.
The question: Who does Sherman think is the most underrated player in the NFL?
“I think the kid from Minnesota is pretty underrated. The corner, Xavier Rhodes,” Sherman answered. “He doesn’t get a lot of credit, but he plays a great game. He’s good in coverage and he’s a fundamentally sound tackler.”
Xavier Rhodes probably won't remain underrated much long. He's driving Beckham crazy.

Rhodes played a key role in the Vikings’ win over the Giants on Monday night by stonewalling Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham finished the game with a career low 3 catches for just 23 yards. The previous week, Rhodes helped the Vikings keep Carolina’s Kelvin Benjamin without a reception.

This week Rhodes has another big challenge against a former ACC foe, DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans. Hopkins played at Clemson while Rhodes was at Florida State.
Hopkins: "I played against Xavier Rhodes since college. Very physical."
