The NBA Draft is one week from today and the potential No. 1 overall pick will reportedly visit the Timberwolves in Minneapolis on Friday.
According to RealGM, Karl-Anthony Towns will be in Minneapolis to meet with Timberwolves brass. This is his first reported trip to Minneapolis, although it’s been reported that Minnesota coach-president Flip Saunders was wowed by Towns during a workout in California a couple of week ago.
It’s unclear if Towns will hold a private workout on Friday.
The Pioneer Press reports that Duke big man Jahlil Okafor worked out for the Timberwolves Wednesday at the brand new Mayo Clinic Square.
Part of Okafor’s visit was checking out the new $25 million practice facility, which NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called the “gold standard” of NBA facilities.

One writer for ESPN used analytics to figure out if Towns is the right pick for the Wolves. Within his research, an Eastern Conference executive told him that Towns “has the chance to be a top-10 player.”
Also in the mix is Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell, whom Chad Ford reports is working out with the Wolves Thursday.
