The Minnesota Vikings have made arguably their biggest splash yet in free agency, swooping to land coveted cornerback Byron Murphy, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals.
NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport report the Vikings have signed Murphy on a 2-year deal worth around $22 million.
It's a 2-year deal worth roughly $22M, per me and @TomPelissero. One of the top CBs on the market. https://t.co/DhXW2eGVK7

Murphy is considered one of the top cornerbacks on the free agency market, and the Vikings had a dire need at the position following defensive struggles in 2022 under former defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.
Veteran corner Patrick Peterson is leaving for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cameron Dantzler was released last week and claimed by the Washington Commanders, and no deals have been announced at this time for Chandon Sullivan or Duke Shelley.
The Vikings are believed to still have some work to do as they strive to become cap compliant ahead of Wednesday’s deadline, with the futures of Harrison Smith and Dalvin Cook among those still up in the air.
