Fresh off of missing out on Zach Wheeler, the Minnesota Twins have moved to re-sign Michael Pineda to their pitching corps.
Pineda, who missed the end of the 2019 season after testing positive for a banned diuretic, will sign a 2-year deal with the Twins, worth $20 million.

The Athletic’s Dan Hayes has also confirmed the move, noting that the deal is pending a physical.

The former Yankees pitcher became one of the Twins most effective pitchers mid-season, only for the ban to prevent him joining Minnesota’s playoff tilt.
He will still be serving the ban when the season restarts, and won’t be eligible to return until late May or early June.
He pitched 146 innings in 2019, with 140 strikeouts, an ERA of 4.01, and a 11-5 win-loss record.
