The Minnesota Vikings received a double dose of good news on Sunday morning prior to their clash with the Kansas City Chiefs as a pair of reports indicate that Adam Thielen will play for the Vikings and Patrick Mahomes will sit out for the Chiefs.
The big story coming into this week’s game was the health of Kansas City’s star quarterback, who suffered a dislocated kneecap against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 17.
There was some thoughts that Mahomes could return just a little over two weeks after suffering the gruesome injury on national television, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter snuffed that out with a report on Saturday night.

The 2 a.m. report was coupled by more good news for the Vikings that came on Saturday night as it appears Thielen will return from his hamstring injury after missing last week’s win over Washington.

After missing the first game of his career, it appears that the Vikings’ top-ranked offense will be at full strength against a Chiefs defense that has its share of holes. Still, Kansas City could get Frank Clark, Kendall Fuller, and Chris Jones back as they’re all listed as questionable.
Still, the absence of Mahomes looms large and could give the Vikings an excellent opportunity to improve to 7-2 on Sunday afternoon.
