This election day is an off day for NFL players. All those, except players auditioning to replace Vikings kicker Blair Walsh.
After missing four field goals in 16 attempts and three missed extra points, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has had enough. The Vikings reportedly have brought in a small number of kickers for workouts Tuesday. Published reports indicate that Kai Forbath and Randy Bullock are among those being considered by the Vikings.

Forbath made 10-of-15 field goals and 34-of-35 extra points with the Saints and Redskins last season. Bullock was 19-of-23 on field goals and 22-of-25 on extra points while splitting time with the Jets and Texans.
And now we can add ex-Brown Travis Coons and former Saints and Rams kicker Zach Hocker. Hocker has just 14 career field goal attempts while Coons made 28-of-32 kicks with the Browns last season, according to Daily Norseman.
Will a replacement be found and Walsh released? The Vikings have no comment and still have confidence in Walsh. Asked if Walsh can still be a successful kicker with the Vikings, Zimmer responded: “I think Blair can be a successful kicker, yes.”
Notice how he didn’t say Walsh could be a successful kicker with the Vikings?
Zimmer is expected to discuss Tuesday’s tryouts at his weekly news conference Wednesday at Winter Park.
