Hall of Famer Paul Molitor will get a second meeting with Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan to discuss the Twins vacant managerial job.
According to the Pioneer Press’ Mike Berardino, Molitor will meet with Ryan again on Tuesday. A source tells Berardino that it’s possible Ryan could offer Molitor the job during the meeting, but it is not expected to happen.

But the news of a second meeting between Molitor and Ryan comes as other reports have surfaced indicating that several other candidates who have been interviewed for the job are no longer in consideration for it.

The search for the next Twins manager has been underway for nearly three weeks. The Twins fired Ron Gardenhire the day after the regular season ended in a loss at Detroit.
Gardenhire spent 13 years as the manager of the Twins. Molitor, who is two years older than Gardenhire, was a candidate for the job when Gardenhire was hired in 2002.
He has been considered by many to be the front-runner for the job since the start of the process.
In his 21-year major league baseball career, Molitor played for the Brewers, Blue Jays and Twins. He recorded more than 3,000 hits.
Since retiring as a player, Molitor has been a part of the Twins organization, working with developing prospects in the minors. This past season he joined the major leauge coaching staff, and according to Puckett’s Pond, oversaw baserunning, bunting, infield instruction, positioning and assisted with in-game strategy.
Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo has also been interviewed along with Twins Triple-A Rochester manager Gene Glynn and Class A Fort Myers manager Doug Mientikewicz.
