Another day at the MLB Winter Meetings in San Diego has resulted in a fresh batch of rumors, including the Miami Marlins showing interest in Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario.
The link between the Twins and Marlins comes from MLB Network’s Mark Feinsand and South Florida sports reporter Craig Mish. Feinsand says “nothing appears imminent,” while Mish indicates that the Twins’ asking price for Rosario is extremely high.
Two names floated as possible Twins targets include Miami starting pitchers Sandy Alcantara and Pablo Lopez, both of who Miami aren’t interested in dealing, Mish said.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reported Tuesday that Miami is seeking a left-handed hitting outfielder, but are not willing to give up top prospects.
Another link to Miami comes in the former of James Rowson, who was hired away from Minnesota (hitting coach) recently to become the bench coach/offensive coordinator for the Marlins. Rowson has been given a lot of credit for helping Rosario become a dangerous hitter at the big-league level.
Meanwhile, nothing big has developed after Tuesday reports indicated the Twins are pursuing either Madison Bumgarner, Hyun-Jin Ryu or Dallas Keuchel. All three lefties are considered the best of the remaining free-agent starting pitchers.

With Gerrit Cole signing a nine-year, $324 million deal with the Yankees, the Dodgers are now reportedly focusing attention on Bumgarner, so the plot has certainly thickened.
According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson and a report out of the New York Times, the Twins are also doing their due diligence on possibly signing free-agent relievers, including Sergio Romo, Blake Treinen, Daniel Hudson, Steve Cishek, Will Harris and Dellin Betances.
Betances was injured last season while Romo, Treinen, Hudson and Cishek are all among MLB Trade Rumors’ top-50 available free agents.
