Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams has told police in Frisco, Texas that he wasn’t driving when his blue Lamborghini crashed into a light pole last Saturday.
Williams identified the man behind the wheel, according to a police report obtained by USA Today Sports, as Vikings wide receiver Kendall Wright.
USA Today Sports says:
“Williams said he was at home during the time of the accident and that he received a phone call informing him of the crash around 1:45 a.m. from Wright, who had borrowed the car for a date. Williams’ vehicle was found abandoned and damaged next to a downed light pole on a street near the Cowboys’ practice facility.”
This version of Williams’ story differs from the one he told police on the night of the crash, USA Today notes, saying Williams, who was college teammates with Wright at Baylor University, originally admitted to crashing, claiming he swerved to avoid hitting a car that slammed on its brakes ahead of him.
In the police report, also obtained by the Dallas Morning News, Williams is documented as saying his friend, Wright, was “an idiot” and crashed his car, leaving the scene in a yellow Camaro to go a club and later calling to inform him of the crash.

The police report also says Williams was later spotted riding an electric scooter back to his gated community, with an officer watching him crash it.
Williams was arrested for public intoxication, but released a statement saying it was unrelated to the crash.
Wright is in his first season with the Vikings after signing as a free agent.
Neither the Vikings nor Wright have commented on the issue.
