The right-handed prospect the Twins got in the Jamie Garcia trade with the Yankees last summer is expected to make his debut in the big leagues on Tuesday, according to a report from KSTP’s Darren Wolfson.
Zack Littell, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander, will be called up to start one of Minnesota’s games in Tuesday’s doubleheader against the White Sox.
Littell finished with an eye-popping 19-1 combined record in the minors last season, and in four starts at Triple-A Rochester this season he owns an impressive 2.57 ERA.
The 22-year-old made five starts at Chattanooga to start the season before being promoted to Rochester. In 51 combined innings he’s struck out 62 batters, which is quite a bit higher than his normal strikeout rate.

Littell is know for being able to locate his curveball, changeup and fastball, which sits in the low 90s, although he’s capable of pumping it up as high as 97 mph.
The Twins and White Sox play a traditional doubleheader on Tuesday, with the first game at 3:10 p.m. and the second scheduled for 7:10 p.m. It’s a makeup game from the historic April blizzard that snowed out three straight at Target Field.
