On Monday, all the steam in the NBA was that Tom Thibodeau and Jeff Van Gundy were in a two-horse race to become the next head coach and team president of the Timberwolves.
Hold up a second, though, because ESPN is now chiming in with a fresh report that former Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson is on the Wolves’ radar for a potential interview on Wednesday.

Jon Krawczynski adds that Jackson has familiarity with Minnesota because he was a finalist for the job when the Wolves elected to go with Kurt Rambis.
Jackson’s coaching resume is short but impressive. He helped build the Warriors from 2011-14 into the team they are today. After back-to-back playoff appearances, Jackson was fired following the 2014-15 season. The next year the Warriors won the NBA title under first-year coach Steve Kerr.
Mark Jackson would make sense in Minnesota too. Timberwolves can't go wrong, IMO, with Jackson, JVG or Thibs. Need vet to mold this.

The report from Monday regarding Thibodeau and Van Gundy also said the Wolves were looking to make a hire sooner than later, so stay tuned for what could be an eventful hiring process.
