The Timberwolves signed free agent small forward Anthony Brown, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Brown agreed two a two-way contract, meaning he can play on the Wolves’ roster or with Minnesota’s G League team in Iowa. The deal hasn’t been announced by the Wolves at this point.
At 24 years old, he’s played in 40 NBA games over the last two seasons.
He appeared in just 11 last year with New Orleans and Orlando, averaging just 3.9 points per game while shooting 34 percent from the floor and a measly 27 percent from 3-point land.
He has yet to turn a corner at the NBA level, but check out the G League stats.
He averaged over 20 points per game in the G League, and shot 46 percent from behind the arc. In 2016 he was a G League All-Star.
So he has potential.
Brown played four years at Stanford University, coming to the NBA in 2015.
At this point it’s unclear exactly where Brown fits in on the NBA roster, but the Timberwolves have no small forward to come off the bench behind Jimmy Butler. Meaning there’s an opening.
