We’re hearing reports that the Timberwolves might be interested in signing a competent shooting guard.
Wolves missed previous shot at pursuing FA shooting guard O.J. Mayo. I expect them to go after him hard this time.

Shooting guard? What’s that?
The definition of a shooting guaard, according to SportingCharts.com is “a position in basketball generally reserved for the taller guard, or the guard who prefers to play off the ball. It may also be referred to as the ‘off guard’ or ‘the two.'”
Wolves fans haven’t watched a shooting guard succeed in a really long time. As CanisHoopus says, Alexey Shved looked like he was capable of filling the role, but he hit the wall two months into his rookie season.
O.J. Mayo was actually drafted by Minnesota as the No. 3 overall pick in 2008, but he was traded to Memphis for Kevin Love.
Mayo hasn’t had an outstanding NBA career, but he’s a capable shooter who can get hot in the blink of an eye.
