Earlier this week it was reported that Timberwolves guard and Minnesota native Tyus Jones was gathering trade interest from around the league.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in acquiring the former standout at Apple Valley high school.
Minnesota still engaged in trade talks on Tyus Jones, including with Philadelphia, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Earlier this morning, the Timberwolves waived Rasual Butler and Tourre Murry which puts the Timberwolves roster at league maximum of 15 players.

Currently the Timberwolves have an abundance of point guards on the roster: Ricky Rubio, Kris Dunn, John Lucas III and Tyus Jones.
Lucas III – who signed with Minnesota on a professional tryout contract – is a 33-year-old veteran who used to play for Tom Thibodeau in Chicago. It looks like he’s done enough to earn a roster spot when Minnesota opens the regular season next week.
Towards the end of training camp last week, Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN, reported that Lucas is the ahead of Jones on the Wolves depth chart.
Although he played in just 38 games last season, Jones’ value may have increased this summer after he was named MVP of the NBA Summer League but it’s unclear what the return would be.
I like Tyus Jones, but I'd be surprised if he develops into more than a good backup. Curious the cost of acquisition.
