The Star Tribune’s Michael Russo reports the Minnesota Wild will likely begin training camp on Saturday, and possibly open the season at home against the Colorado Avalanche on January 19. It’s still possible the Wild could open on the road, which would be disappointing considering the Jan. 19 is Hockey Day Minnesota.
The Wild held another informal workout Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center. In attendance was the Finnish phenom Mikaewl Granlund. The rookie says he’s excited that his dream has finally come true. On top of that, he says Minnesota weather “feels like home.”
