Matthews is the biggest name of the three. The 27-year-old free agent has 220 career receptions for 3,255 yards and 22 touchdowns. His first two years in the NFL, with Philadelphia, were outstanding as he piled up 152 receptions for 1,869 yards and 16 touchdowns.
He had another good year in 2016 – 73 catches, 804 yards, 3 touchdowns – but has since totaled just 45 catches and four touchdowns the last two seasons combined.
Minnesota’s receiver group is led by Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs and Chad Beebe, with Bisi Johnson serving as the fourth receiver. Josh Doctson was supposed to be the fifth receiver on the active roster, but he’s on injured reserve with a hamstring problem.
