The Vikings reportedly held a private workout with former Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.
Penix wowed at his pro day at the University of Washington on March 28, showcasing tremendous straight-line speed and explosive leaping ability, all while showing off his very strong arm. But was it enough to raise the draft stock of a guy with significant injury history who turns 24 in May?
Perhaps the better question for the Vikings is if Penix did enough in his pro day and reported private meeting workout with the Vikings to convince them to draft him. And if he did, could Minnesota stay put at No. 11 to get him or perhaps even call his name with the 23rd pick in the first round?
Things are heating up for Washington QB Michael Penix Jr: Sources say he had dinner with the #Giants in Seattle after his Pro Day, followed by a private workout with the #Vikings in Seattle.

Minnesota’s front office and coaching staff have been present at several quarterback pro days, including for J.J. McCarthy and Drake Maye. Quarterbacks coach Josh McCown even attended Caleb Williams’ pro day at USC last month.
Minnesota also notably talked with top quarterback prospects at the NFL Combine.
Penix, who threw for 4,903 yards with 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this past season, led the Huskies to the national championship game where they fell short to McCarthy and Michigan.
