ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that Adrian Peterson is unlikely to play Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings visit the high-powered Carolina Panthers.
Peterson suffered a torn meniscus late in the third quarter in Minnesota’s 17-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers Sunday night. The Vikings have yet to rule him out for the game.
ESPN NFC North reporter Ben Goessling says Peterson is waiting to hear from doctors Wednesday morning before determining the best course of action to heal his knee.

If Peterson needs surgery, Werder says Peterson would miss anywhere from one week to four weeks.
Corrected previous info on Adrian Peterson to torn meniscus. Often requires surgery, recovery 1 week to 3 or 4, per location and severity
