Grew up watching Joe Mauer and wondering where the time went? You’re not alone, but a report from SKOR North’s Judd Zulgad isn’t going to make you feel any younger.
Zulgad says Mauer and a cast of other former Twins could take part in a Legends Game at Target Field on Aug. 2. The game is happening, per Zulgad, but the players of Twins past who participate remains a big question. Zulgad says Mauer is “likely” to partake, while naming these five fan favorites who may also be up for some ball.
- Justin Morneau
- Torii Hunter
- Michael Cuddyer
- Johan Santana
- Glen Perkins
All of those guys were key contributors to the Twins teams that won six division titles under former manager Ron Gardenhire between 2002 and 2010.
The last game featuring Twins greats was played in 2010, with Kent Hrbek stealing the show when he tumbled in foul territory and left a massive divot in the grass.

Minnesota is set to host the Houston Astros at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, but it’s unclear if the Legends Game would take place before or after the MLB game.
