Living up to the hype as one of baseball’s best prospects is a good way to get attention from your country.
That’s exactly what’s happening to Twins top prospect Byron Buxton.
According to Fox Sports MLB reporter Jon Morosi, Team USA wants Buxton to play at the Pan-Am Games July 10-26 in Toronto.

The games are less than a month away, and considering Buxton is still at Class Double-A Chattanooga, he’d have to get really hot and have the Twins call him up soon to exclude himself from playing for the U.S., the Star Tribune notes.
Buxton has been on a tear in the minor leagues. After a slow start, Buxton is hitting .279 with 6 homers, 37 RBI, 12 triples, 7 doubles and 20 stolen bases through 58 games.
