It’s looking like Sam Bradford will make his return to the Vikings on Monday night.
Bradford has reportedly been taking first-team reps in practice over the weekend, and head coach Mike Zimmer told ESPN that he anticipates he’ll start against the Chicago Bears.
After Friday’s practice, Bradford said his knee “has come a long ways” after returning to practice on Thursday. The fact Bradford is even practicing is a good sign, considering he hasn’t practiced since Sept. 21.
The 29-year-old quarterback has been out since Week 1 due to a non-contact knee injury in Minnesota’s win over the New Orleans Saints.
After meeting with orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews last month, it was revealed that Bradford had no structural damage in his knee and simply needed time off and rest to rehab his injury.
Backup Case Keenum has made three starts in lieu of Bradford and Minnesota has won just one game with Keenum under center.
The Vikings will be looking for a rare win on Monday evening in Chicago. Over the last ten years, Minnesota has picked up just two wins at Soldier Field.
Kickoff against the Bears is set for 7:30 and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
