Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter couldn’t put any weight on his right leg after his right foot slammed awkwardly into the boards in a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars Saturday night.
Michael Russo of The Athletic reports that fears are that Suter suffered a broken right fibula, which would undoubtedly end his season.
Here’s the video replay of Suter’s right foot going into the boards.

“Sutes doesn’t get hurt very often so anytime he goes off like that you worry about it,” head coach Bruce Boudreau said, via Wild.com. “Hopefully, it’s not as bad as it looked when he was coming off.”
Losing Suter for any period of time this late in the season would be catastrophic for the Wild, who are already without two other defensemen, Jared Spurgeon (groin tear) and Gustav Olofsson (concussion).

Regardless, Minnesota has to play on and with just four games left in the regular season they are one win or one regulation loss by the Blues or Avalanche from clinching a sixth straight playoff appearance.
