According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, there is “optimism” that Wolves stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards could make their returns Wednesday against the Hawks at Target Center.
Towns has missed the last 52 games with a calf strain. Edwards has been out for the past two games after spraining his ankle Friday night in the Wolves’ 139-131 double overtime loss to the Bulls.

The Wolves will host the Hawks Wednesday after defeating the Knicks at Madison Square Garden 140-134.
Towns has been out since Nov. 28 with a calf strain and his return table has been vague with times, ranging from an initial report of 4-6 weeks, to a press release from the team saying that Towns was participating in basketball activities and was expected to return “in the coming weeks.”
The Wolves are 26-26 since Towns’ injury.
