NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero has summed up the latest Stefon Diggs social media drama as “Diggs being Diggs.”
Pelissero said he spoke to multiple sources who are familiar with the situation and they all said it’s “Diggs being Diggs,” adding that Diggs’ social media presence has always been a “little bit unusual at times.”
The trade speculation has ramped up after all Vikings-related content was removed from Diggs’ Instagram account. Considering Diggs was answering questions about trade rumors last season by saying “there’s truth to all rumors,” anything he does in cryptic fashion on social media leads to immediate speculation about his happiness in Minnesota.
But as it stands now, according to Pelissero, the odds the Vikings trade Diggs are low.
“Everyone I’ve asked about this has said he was really good in the building once he got back and look at the numbers. This was a highly productive player for the Vikings when they needed him to be, especially when Adam Thielen was out with a hamstring injury,” said Pelissero.
“The Vikings are certainly not releasing Stefon Diggs. I would expect that they would get some calls about potential trades as teams tend to this time of year. But even there, the odds of something happening are pretty long.”

All that said, talking head Colin Cowherd said Tuesday that Diggs is not happy in Minnesota and that the Vikings are open to shopping him for the “right pick” in the upcoming NFL Draft.
“Minnesota’s looking to move off him for the right pick. They are,” Cowherd said.
Diggs is under contract for the next four seasons, having signed a five-year, $78 million deal last offseason. We’ll see what happens between now and when NFL free agency begins March 18, and then continue watching if need be until the NFL Draft April 23-25.
