Special teams coordinator Mike Priefer will not return to the Vikings, according to the Star Tribune‘s Mark Craig and Ben Goessling.
Zimmer just told me Mike Priefer won't be back. I'm sure it's the hardest part of the job. I know the team admired Prief and is hoping he finds success elsewhere. I definitely will miss Priefer. One of my favorite assistants I've covered. https://t.co/6fozN0ilqi

Priefer had been with the Vikings the past eight seasons, with this being one of the worst statistically as Vikings kickers, Daniel Carlson and Dan Bailey, combined to miss 10 out of 32 field-goal attempts for a league worst 68.8 percent success rate.
On Jan. 3, Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez and ESPN’s Courtney Cronin reported that the Vikings were trying to re-sign Priefer, whose contract expired after the season.
This is a developing story. More information will be added as it arrives.
