Newly signed Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd will serve the rest of his house arrest sentence in Minnesota, according to ESPN’s Ben Goessling.
Floyd pleased guilty to an extreme DUI earlier this year and was sentenced to 24 days in jail and 96 days of house arrest. Goessling says the punishment has now been transferred from Arizona to Minnesota.
This means the St. Paul native will be able to join the Vikings for offseason workouts, which start May 22.
He could still be suspended though. Pro Football Talk notes he’ll likely face at least a two-game suspension under the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
The former Cretin-Derham Hall standout played for both the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots last season.
When on the field, the 26-year-old is one of the better deep threats in the league as he averages over 15 yards per reception in his career.
Floyd signed a one-year deal with the Vikings on May 10 worth at least $1.5 million but that can be bumped up to $6 million in incentives.
