Murray is a big back who rushed for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. He broke 100 yards in only two games and finished with fewer than 50 yards seven times.
Eddie Lacy, who visited Minnesota over the weekend, has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
Adrian Peterson remains unsigned.
