For most NBA players, a trip to a different city just to take in the town wouldn’t be even a little deal.
But most NBA players are not Kevin Love, a young all-star with immeasurable talent that appears not-too-thrilled with the direction of his current team and has all but asked for a trade.
With that, we bring you this: According to Celtics Blog (citing a report and photo from Dirty Water News, which you can see above) Love is in Boston this weekend to “see what it’s like.” Love was captured on camera posing with someone outside of an establishment called The Greatest Bar – which Celtics Blog notes is right across the street from the Celtics’ arena.
His presence in the city has since been confirmed by a few other reporters.
What does this mean? Well, probably nothing. Love could simply be touring the country for fun because why not? He doesn’t have the playoffs clogging up his summer schedule.
But since it was reported earlier this month that the Celtics were one of the teams planning to make a hard push for Love this summer, his apparent interest in seeing what Boston is like means everyone gets to overanalyze it (or if you’re a Celtics fan, hope it’s a sign of things to come).
So, Kevin Love reportedly touring Boston this weekend – that should really temper Celtics fans expectations. I still don't see it happening.

A little birdie tells me Kevin Love was in Boston last night hanging out with #Patriots players. Checking out his future hometown perhaps?

Pretty great time of year for Kevin Love to make a visit to Boston. Everyone just tell him it's like this everyday.

I can already picture Kevin Love and Rondo combo in Boston. The East needs a strong Celtic. #NBA

Boston has a lot of trade pieces to dangle in front of Flip Saunders and the Timberwolves, including:
– Picks No. 6 and No. 17 in this year’s NBA draft
– First-round picks from Philadelphia, the L.A. Clippers and Brooklyn Nets in the following two drafts
– The right to swap picks with Brooklyn in 2016, plus the Nets’ 2018 first-rounder
– Young frontcourt players Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk
– Talented swingman Jeff Green
Competition appears to be stuff though – the Lakers, Knicks and Bulls have been mentioned as suitors. The Warriors were said to be planning an “aggressive” pursuit of Love. And this week the Wizards and Kings were mentioned as Love admirers.
