Fred Hoiberg will not be the next head coach of the Gophers men’s basketball team.
The University of Minnesota reportedly offered Hoiberg the head coaching job, but on Thursday night Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard tweeted that Hoiberg wasn’t going anywhere.
Excited to share with #CycloneNation that Coach Hoiberg has agreed to a 10 year, $20 million contract to stay a Cyclone! Release forthcoming

Thank you President Leath and Jamie Pollard for believing in me!— Fred Hoiberg (@CoachHoiberg) March 29, 2013
Myron Medcalf, formerly of the Star Tribune, tweeted some telling reasons as to why Hoiberg may have decided to stay at Iowa State.
