The soap opera between the Vikings and Percy Harvin continues…
According to Yahoo! sports writer Jason Cole, Harvin threatened to walk out on the team last offseason after hearing that former Florida teammate Aaron Hernandez received a contract extension after only two years.
Harvin is set to be a free agent after the 2013 season and has been itching for a contract extension.
The Vikings are widely reported to be one of the leading suitors of Pittsburgh wide receiver Mike Wallace.
The Pioneer Press reports a Wallace signing could lead to one of two outcomes for the Vikings: A Harvin trade or a Harvin holdout.
Cole added the chances of the Vikings and Harvin reaching an agreement is not too good. Harvin is looking for a deal similar to Calvin Johnson’s eight-year, $132 million extension–likely way out of the Vikings’ price range.
