Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune reports that wide receiver Percy Harvin has informed the Vikings that he wants to be traded. It’s the latest twist in a saga that started with Harvin last summer.
Vikings general manager Rick Spielman has told the media, on numerous occasions, that he has no plans to trade a player of Harvin’s caliber.
Harvin is under contract through next season, but he reportedly wants Calvin Johnson-like money.
Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported last week that the Vikings are expected to get into a bidding war with the Dolphins for free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace. Teams can start signing free agents at 3:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
The Vikings have enough cap room to sign Wallace to a big deal, but not enough to sign Wallace and Harvin.
