Sam Fuld is getting set to rejoin the Twins.
The Pioneer Press reports Fuld left his rehab assignment with Double-A New Britain on Thursday.
Fuld needed just four rehab games to prove he has recovered from a concussion he suffered on May 2. He hit .429 and slugged .786 in four games with the Rock Cats.
On Tuesday, Fuld hit a leadoff home run, then went 3 for 5 with a double and a walk on Wednesday.
The timing could be working out well for Fuld and the Twins.
According to the newspaper, center fielder Aaron Hicks will be examined by team doctors in the Twin Cities. He injured his shoulder in Saturday’s win over Houston, while making a diving catch. He has not played the field since, but has been available to pinch hit or pinch run.
In 13 games with the Twins before the injury, Fuld had a .291 on-base percentage.
Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said Fuld could be ready as soon as Friday.
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Antony said. “I think he’s getting to the point where he’s having consistent days with no problems and no side effects or recurring headaches.”

The Twins claimed Fuld off waivers from the Oakland A’s in April. He is hitting .232 on the season, with a home run and seven RBIs.
The Twins are expected to recall catcher Eric Fryer from Triple-A Rochester to replace Josmil Pinto, who was demoted on Wednesday.
