One of the most iconic hockey towns in the country could host Hockey Day Minnesota next year.
According to the Duluth News Tribune, FOX Sports North is in the final stages of planning before announcing later this month that Duluth will host the 10th annual Hockey Day Minnesota. An outdoor rink will be constructed at Bayfield Festival Park in Duluth for the Feb. 6, 2016 games.

Per the report, there are currently two high schools being considered as hosts: Duluth East and Duluth Denfeld.
Bayfield Festival Park offers a generous view of Lake Superior and the city’s lift bridge, its website says.
“Bayfront Festival Park is one of Duluth’s most beautiful public parks located on the shores of Lake Superior. Visitors to the park can view ships from around the world entering the harbor under the Aerial Lift Bridge.”
The Minnesota Wild are scheduled to play on the road Feb. 6 against the St. Louis Blues. Nearly every Division I Minnesota men’s and women’s college team are scheduled to play home games that day, too, with the exception of the Bemidji State men, who are idle that week, and the St. Cloud State men, who are on the road.
