The Minnesota Vikings fired Ed Donatell two weeks ago and despite already conducting four interviews they still haven’t announced a new defensive coordinator.
According to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, the reason for the hold up is because the Vikings want to interview in-demand Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
The reason the Vikings' search for a defensive coordinator has been quiet lately is that, per sources, they're waiting to see if they can get an interview with the Denver Broncos' Ejiro Evero. At the moment, he's a candidate for the head coach job in Indianapolis and Arizona.

The 42-year-old coach is currently in the running for the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals head-coaching vacancies, according to reports. If Evero isn’t hired as a head coach, it’s possible that he stays in Denver to call the defensive plays under new head coach Sean Payton.
Denver’s defense was eighth in yards allowed this season and 15th in points allowed. According to PFF, the Broncos had the eighth-highest graded defense in the NFL.
We hear a lot about head coaching candidates at this time of year and their qualifications, based primarily off of statistical performance. I’ll say, firsthand, nobody I had the chance to talk to this year impressed me more, from A to Z, than #Broncos DC Ejiro Evero.

Minnesota has already interviewed Ryan Nielson, Sean Desai, Mike Pettine, and Brian Flores for the vacant defensive coordinator position. Nielson was hired as the Falcons DC last Friday.
Kevin O’Connell spent two years on the Rams coaching staff with Evero.
