Dante Cunningham could be returning to the Timberwolves.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Cunningham is considering joining the Wolves even though the New Orleans Pelicans are pushing hard to bring him back.

Cunningham, 30, played for the Wolves from 2012-14 before spending the last three seasons in New Orleans. He’s the ultimate bench player capable of playing power forward and some small forward.
The 6’8” Cunningham averaged 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season, which are basically on par with his career averages (6.1 points, 3.8 rebounds).
Per ESPN, Cunningham can’t get more than the league minimum from the Wolves or Pelicans, which is not what he wanted when he opted out of his $3.1 million option in June.
A Wolf Among Wolves has a solid take on Cunningham, saying he’d be a steal at the league minimum and could provide Minnesota with a defensive-minded wing capable of hitting threes off the bench.
