Johnson was a seventh-round pick by the Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft and made an impact during his first two seasons. Johnson caught 31 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie season and started across from Adam Thielen in the first two games of the 2020 season.
But Johnson was surpassed on the depth chart by Justin Jefferson and turned in a disappointing year with 14 catches and 189 yards. The Colorado State product was set to compete for a spot on the roster but his injury should open up more opportunities for K.J. Osborn, Chad Beebe and recent free-agent addition Dede Westbrook.
