Nearly a month into free agency and Adrian Peterson is still without a new team.
Peterson has been rumored to be drawing interest from teams like the Raiders, Buccaneers, Packers, Lions and Patriots, but you can now cross the Buccaneers off that list, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
Peterson worked out with Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston earlier this week, leading Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter to tell Stroud that he’s anxious to ask Winston how the workouts with Peterson went.
“I’m anxious to talk to Jameis and ask him how his workouts went,” Koetter told Stroud. “That caught me off guard. I didn’t know that. I’ll be honest with you, first thing I thought when I saw that was Jamies is just an amazing guy. The guy is everywhere.”
Just completed one of my favorite weeks in football I've ever had. Hats off to Jameis Winston for building the idea. That's what leaders do. pic.twitter.com/IOrfxZQZTk

The Vikings’ all-time leader rusher was cut by the Vikings last month in a move to avoid paying Peterson $18 million in 2017. Minnesota then elected against bringing Peterson back at a lower cost, instead signing former Raiders running back Latavius Murray to a three-year, $15 million deal.
Peterson posted a quick workout video to his Instagram page on Friday, showing him moving faster than a bunch of young guys.
“Guess who’s the only one older than 24!,” Peterson wrote. “A sip of my Got dang juice! Talking about I’ve lost a step. Haters do whatcha do best.”
