The Monday Morning Quarterback’s Peter King is reporting that former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson would be willing to play for $5 million or less if the right team gives him a call.
ESPN reported in March that Peterson wouldn’t play for anything less than $8 million a year – a report that Peterson quickly shot down as fake news.
“It’s not all about the money as EVERYONE is speculating here lately,” Peterson tweeted. “You’d THINK these analysts spoke to me directly. When you don’t know what’s going on people will say anything to create or make a story.”
“Here is something straight from the horse’s mouth … finding the best fit and helping a team in a major way win a championship is my main objective,” he added.

Where Peterson plays next season is the question. He’s visited the Patriots and Saints but King says there’s “no leader in the clubhouse” to land him.
Multiple reports, including one from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport a week ago, now say it’s highly unlikely Peterson will sign before next week’s NFL Draft. Rapoport speculated that Peterson might stay unsigned until the preseason or regular season.
