It could be a big day for Adrian Peterson.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Peterson is scheduled to meet with the New England Patriots on Monday. Schefter says the Patriots have a need at running back since LeGarrette Blount, who could still return to the team, is also in free agency limbo. The only other running backs on the roster are Dion Lewis, James White, Rex Burkhead and D.J. Foster.
The only other team Peterson has visited was a trip to see Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks last month.
On March 24, Peterson tweeted that he’s not in a rush to sign and that a chance to win play a “major” role for a championship contender is his top priority.
