Christmas is right around the corner and the Vikings could have Adrian Peterson feasting on the football field during the holidays.
According to ESPN’s Ben Goessling, Peterson could return from his knee injury in mid- to- late-December.
“Peterson had an exam late last week and could start running this week. Though the three-time rushing champion is said to be exercising caution in his return from the knee injury he sustained on Sept. 18 against the Green Bay Packers, he could make his return before the end of the regular season.”
Possible comeback games?
- Dec. 11 at Jacksonville
- Dec. 18 vs. Indianapolis
- Dec. 24 at Green Bay
Minnesota closes the regular season on New Year’s Day at home against the Chicago Bears.
Peterson underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Sept. 22. Minnesota’s rushing attack was bad with Peterson and it’s been bad without him. They’re averaging an NFL-low 2.7 yards per carry.
Pro Football Talk reported late last week that Peterson had started light running. The ESPN report says Peterson could start running this week.
