Scott Baker’s decision to sign with the Cubs for more money than the Twins would offer leaves Minnesota with one less free agent option. The Twins wanted to bring Baker back, but General Manager Terry Ryan said ,”It wasn’t meant to be. He’s a Cub now, so we wish him well.”
With Baker out of the picture the Twins have to look elsewhere in free agency to fill a desperate need for starting pitching. Baseball blogger Aaron Gleeman has compiled a list of top-of-the-line starters, middle-of-the-rotation starters, and back-of-the-rotation starters available to sign.
Baker had some great moments as a Twin, and Twins Daily remembers them all.
