Boston beat the Twins, 7-6 to complete a three game sweep at Target Field. Just a day after Ron Gardenhire said he needed more from his starting pitchers, Liam Hendriks lasted just four innings. The Twins get a day off before starting a three game series against the Royals tomorrow.
The Twins trailed 7-1 before scoring five runs in the seventh innings, but left the bases loaded. Minnesota loaded the bases again in the ninth but Denard Span struck out to end the game.
Joe Mauer finished with two hits and two runs batted in.
It’s the Twins’ sixth straight home loss.
