Christian Ponder’s fiance is talking about her engagement for the first time.
Samantha Steele tells Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch she had “zero interest” in going public with her upcoming wedding.
But Steele says when she was asked about it — she “was not going to lie.”
As for Ponder, he had another rough day passing — just 91 yards against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Afterwards, ex-Viking Ben Leber took Ponder to task for concentrating more on his love life than on X’s and O’s.
As Leber said it on KFAN’s Vikings Fan Line after the game: “He’s one of 32 NFL quarterbacks. Couldn’t he have waited (to get engaged) six or seven weeks?”
